All students (especially seniors) are invited to stop by and get help with their questions regarding their post-secondary goals! It's never too early to start planning!

Come to the College and Career Center in the Library A307a to:

Meet with the College and Career Counselor, Mrs. Noonan, to discuss your college and career plans
Gain support submitting college applications and filing the FAFSA or RISE Applications
Obtain support with research and filling out scholarship applications
Meet with college representatives and military representatives
Register for the ACT/SAT with Fee Waivers and review scores
Research different career options, including trade school, apprenticeships and work force

Scoir is a customized, secure website that supports post-secondary, college and career planning. It is designed to assist students and their parents/guardians in making informed decisions about college opportunities and career choices. This online resource allows juniors and seniors the ability to research colleges, take a career interest inventory and much more.

This website is a college search engine to provide students, parents, and professionals find the “right match” school. Through the division of five sections, this website is a resource to other links and information that is more than useful. Students, parents, and professionals are given the option of creating a FREE account in order to take advantage of all the features of this website.

This website is primarily a scholarship and job search engine for high school and college students. You will need to create a profile in order to assist the automated system to locate scholarships which you are eligible for. Additionally, this website provides students with many articles and advice about the transition from high school to college and from college to a career. You will also find student/parent blogs to ask other students questions or advice.

College Reps! - Please schedule your visits within SchooLinks!

STUDENTS: Students should sign-up in advance within SchooLinks by registering for the events.

Students must sign up at least three school days before the college representative visits in order to be excused from class.

Students will be meeting with representatives in person this year in the College and Career Center, A307a in the library!

You will not be sent a pass for the visit - please come directly to the college and career center before class Mrs. Noonan will excuse your absence for you!

What documents do I need to fill out for the 2025-26 FAFSA?

For the 2025-2026 school year (when the student will be in college) you will need financial information from 2023.

You may need to refer to:

Social Security number (student’s and parent’s)
Your driver’s license
Your 2023 W-2 forms and other records of money earned
Your 2023 Federal Income Tax Return: IRS 1040, 1040A, 1040 EZ
Your Parents’ 2023 Federal Income Tax Return (if you are a dependent student)
2023 untaxed income records (welfare benefits, Social Security, or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
Current bank statements
Current business and investment records (if any)

The FAFSA is available on December 1, 2024 - FAFSA Fest will take place on January 15th, 2025 at RLHS!

Remember!

If the student applying for financial aid does not have a valid Social Security number DO NOT FILE. If the student has a Social Security number but the parents do not, you may still file and click the "I do not have a social security number" button when asked for parent information.

Apprenticeship opportunities are a great way to get into a career by learning and earning as part of a Union.

Typically you need to be 17-18 years old to start, take an Aptitude Test, be a U.S. citizen and apply for the program by the due date.
