Onsite Cap & Gown Orders

  • Representatives from Jostens will be in the main foyer during lunch hours to take orders for caps, gowns, and tassels. Remember to bring your order form and down payment. Extra packets are available in the Student Service office.

Graduation Ceremony
The 2024 Round Lake High School Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 17, 6:00pm, at the Round Lake High School Stadium.

Weather will be monitored closely. If needed, the ceremony will be moved to Saturday, May 18, 6:00pm, at the Round Lake High School Stadium. Additional schedule options are set and will be communicated closer to the event date if weather requires modifications to the ceremony plan.

Graduate Arrival Time
Graduates participating in the ceremony should arrive at the tennis courts between 5:00pm and 5:30pm. Any students driving to the event will be directed to park in the student parking lot.

Ceremony Parking
Only student participants will be allowed to park at the Round Lake High School parking lot on the day of the ceremony. Ceremony attendees will be required to park and shuttle to/from the Stadium from a designated parking lot, located at Rollins Crossing 400 East Rollins Rd, Round Lake Beach (the old Kmart building). It is important to note that parking will not be permitted on neighborhood streets surrounding the campus.

* Exception: Anyone who requires the use of handicap parking will be permitted to park at the Round Lake High School campus. Evidence of handicap parking access will be required prior to parking.

Shuttle Times:

  • 6:00 p.m. Ceremony
    • Shuttles depart Rollins Parking Lot 5:00 pm-5:40 pm
    • Shuttles depart RLHS immediately following the ceremony

Graduation Practice
Graduation ceremony practice will be held Friday, May 17, 8:00am-10:00am at the RLHS Stadium. All graduating seniors are required to participate in the practice.

Graduation Tickets
Each graduate will receive 4 ceremony tickets. Graduates will be provided with their 4 ceremony tickets during Senior Checkout on Monday, May 13. Only those displaying tickets will be permitted to enter the stadium.

Cap & Gown Pick Up
Any student who has not yet picked up their cap and gown will need to do so on May 7, 2024. This is the final date for pick up.

Cap, Gown & Shoe Requirements
Students will be permitted to wear caps with decorations to the formal ceremony. Decorations on the cap must be appropriate and refrain from displaying profanity and/or use of vulgarity.  Students will only be allowed to wear the issued graduation cap.  Baseball hats, cowboy hats, knit hats, etc. will not be allowed. All gowns should remain zipped through the entirety of the event. This ceremony is a distinguished event and we would like to carry this standard through our graduates’ attire for this day.  

Additionally, to protect the turf on the field, students should refrain from wearing pointed high-heeled shoes. These shoes may not be worn on the field.

Photographs
Photographs will be taken by Lifetouch during the graduation ceremony. Each graduate will be photographed. Complimentary proofs will be mailed to graduates. Anyone interested in purchasing photographs may do so at www.events.lifetouch.com - PhotoDay Access Code: 20377GY24.

Sign Language Services
Families requiring sign language services are asked to notify the school office no later than Friday, May 3. Please call 224.842.2816 or email rbanuelos@rlas-116.org. 

Diploma Pick Up
Graduates will receive their diploma cover during the ceremony. Official diplomas may be picked up at the counseling office on Monday, May 20, 2024.

Graduation Gifts
Gifts for graduates are available for purchase from the Commencement Group.

Additional Graduation Information
Students and audience members who are deemed disruptive or obstruct the view of others will be asked to leave the ceremony. This includes inappropriate applause, yelling, noisemakers, beach balls and balloons.

At the end of the ceremony, parents and graduates are welcome to head over to the tennis court and take pictures on the backdrops provided.

There will be no pets allowed, with the exception of service animals.
