Round Lake Visual Arts

Intro to 2D Art 1 will cover art basics. Students will learn about the principles and elements of art while exploring art techniques like drawing, painting, sculpting and printmaking. 

Intro to 2D Art 2 will continue with art basics. Students will learn about the principles and elements of art and using them more in depth.

Ceramics I will introduce students to clay properties, hand building techniques, surface decoration, firing temperatures and glazing methods.

Ceramics II will offer a more advanced look at clay building and firing methods. 

In Drawing I, students will demonstrate mastery of drawing using a variety of art media and techniques.

In Drawing II, students will be encouraged to develop their personal style and continued development of their portfolio.

In Painting I, students will explore a variety of painting techniques, media and historical approaches to art.

In Painting II, students will explore advanced painting techniques and will be encouraged to develop their personal style and continued development of their portfolio.

Sculpture focuses on the construction of three-dimensional art work. 

Drawing and Painting Art Studio is an advanced course designed for students interested in learning advanced drawing and painting techniques and portfolio preparation. Watercolor, acrylic and oil painting techniques are included in the curriculum.

Advanced Placement Studio Art is a college-accredited course where students will create a portfolio during the course of the year to be sent to the AP Art board for evaluation.
