Jamie Dormody is the Director of the Round Lake High School Color Guard and Winter Guard program.
Jamie grew up in Gurnee, IL and attended Warren Township High School. She graduated from VanderCook College of Music in 2000 and taught music, choir, band and coached the flag teams at St. Joseph School in Round Lake for 15 years. Jamie currently works at the Sparrow's Nest Resale Shop.
Jamie has been the coach at Round Lake for 16 years and is super excited for her 17th year together! In the past, she was the JV Winter Guard coach at Warren Township HS for 4 years before coming to Round Lake.
Jamie really enjoys coaching at Round Lake, as it has been an amazing journey so far! Please contact Jamie if you have any questions about the Guard program.

Ivy graduated Round Lake High School in 2019 and spun with the program for six seasons.
She graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois where she majored in Elementary Education. Ivy currently teaches 5th grade in Lake Villa, IL.
Her favorite show is Bad Habits and her favorite guard memory is playing bussy roll call on the way to competitions.
Ivy was a member of the Marching Illini (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022).

Ms. Barker is the music teacher and choir director at W.J. Murphy Elementary.
Teresa Barker is at W.J. Murphy School teaching general music to grades 1 through 5 and directs the 4th and 5th grade chorus, the Murphy Mustang Singers. She has previously taught kindergarten to 5th grade general music, 6th-8th grade chorus, and is in her 10th year teaching elementary music and choir.
She holds a bachelor's degree in music education from Elmhurst University and a master's degree in education with a specialization in English Language Learning from Northcentral University.

Ms. Bilancia is a general music teacher and band director at JTMMS.
Morgan Bilancia is from Island Lake, IL and graduated from Wauconda High School. At WHS, Ms. Bilancia was a flute and piccolo player in the top band for all four years, and she also participated in pit orchestra, pep band, NLCC Honor Band, and served as a section leader and drum major for the Marching Bulldogs. After graduating from Wauconda High School, Ms. Bilancia attended Indiana University South Bend for a year before transferring to Elmhurst University to finish her Bachelor of Music in Music Education. During her time in undergrad, Ms. Bilancia was a member of the Women’s Tennis Team, The National Association for Music Education, The Illinois Collegiate Music Education Association, Phi Kappa Phi, and Lambda Sigma Psi. She also participated in several ensembles including flute choir, Philharmonic Orchestra, and Wind Ensemble where she served as Band Manager. While at Elmhurst, Ms. Bilancia also had the opportunity to study music abroad in Germany, the Czech Republic, and Austria.
Upon graduation from Elmhurst University in 2023, Ms. Bilancia was hired as the Band Director at John T. Magee Middle School. She currently teaches general music and all four band classes. During her free time, Ms. Bilancia loves to travel, play flute in her church orchestra, and spend time with her friends and family (and her dog, Bodhi).

Javier Diaz is from Algonquin, IL. He graduated from Jacobs High School where he participated in ILMEA All-State and District Choirs and received National School Choral Award. He then attended Millikin University where he received his undergraduate degree under the direction of Dr. Brad Holmes. During his time at Millikin he was apart of the Millikin University Choir where he had the opportunity to sing all over the United States and England. After teaching a couple of years in central Illinois Dr. Joe Grant offered him an assistantship opportunity at the University of Illinois where he received his master's degree in music education under.
Mr. Diaz began his teaching journey in central Illinois in a small town called Hoopeston Home of the Cornjerkers. Where he taught Middle and High School Show Choirs and Concert Choirs. He now has been teaching at Round Lake Middle School for the last 12 years. Throughout Mr. Diaz's time in Round Lake , he has grown the after-school choir program into an over 100 student curricular choir. He has also been featured in the Daily Herald and been awarded the ISBE Those Who Excel Award. He enjoys sharing his love for music with his students and he loves showing students that anything is possible if you take the time that is needed to succeed.
Mr. Diaz's most prized possession is his family. Laura Diaz is his beautiful wife that works in the nursing field. His son Brady is a junior in high school striving to play collegiate baseball and his daughter Cadence is an 8th grader that loves to perform in the theater.

Mrs. Langhoff is the general music teacher and band director at Ellis.
This year, Mrs. Langhoff is at Ellis School teaching General Music to grades 1 through 5 as well as and 5th grade band. In the past she has taught music grades K - 8, band grade 5 - 8, and Chorus grades 4 - 8.
Mrs. Langhoff grew up in a suburb of Chicago. She graduated from Glenbard North High School. While there she learned to play the oboe and it became her principal instrument. After high school she graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education.
In 2009, she earned her Masters in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music.

Mr. McGuire is the choir director and general music teacher at JTMMS.
Mr. McGuire was born and raised in Round Lake and is a proud graduate of District 116. He has taught middle school choir and general music in Round Lake since 2004. Prior to starting in Round Lake, he taught 4th - 12th grade band in nine schools on the southeast side of Chicago.
He attended Illinois State University on an oboe performance scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education in 2003. At ISU, Mr. McGuire served as an oboist and English horn player in multiple bands, chamber ensembles, and ISU’s orchestra. As a member of the Big Red Marching Machine, Mr. McGuire played keyboard percussion as well as mellophone. Highlights of his time at ISU include the Big Red Marching Machine’s performance at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis as well as the premiere of David Maslanka’s Symphony No. 5 at the 2001 College Band Director’s National Conference in Denton, TX. Mr. McGuire also holds a Master of Music degree from Boston University and a Master of Arts in Theatre Directing from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
Apart from his teaching duties, Mr. McGuire is active musically and theatrically. In Round Lake, he directs RLHS Theatre’s fall play and spring musical. Outside of school, he is a Jeff Award nominated properties designer who has worked for numerous Chicago and suburban theatre companies including Kokandy Productions (The SpongeBob Musical), Porchlight Music Theatre (Anything Goes), Citadel Theatre, (The Christians, Silent Sky), Milwaukee’s Skylight Music Theatre (Xanadu), and Metropolis PAC (Cabaret, Addams Family, A Christmas Carol, Sister Act). He has also done freelance work for Florentine Opera, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Music Theater Works, and Gallaudet University, as well as design/fabrication work in puppetry, historical millinery, props, and costume crafts for numerous companies and individuals across the country.
As a performer, Mr. McGuire has worked as a freelance reed player and pianist on many professional and amateur musical productions in and around Chicago. As an actor and singer, he has performed professionally with Pride Films and Plays, the Apollo Studio Theatre, and originated the role of Anton Haizinger in the musical Beethoven in Vienna. He has also performed variously as a tenor soloist, his favorite being for Queen of All Saints Basilica's Christmas performance of The Messiah. Mr. McGuire can be heard on two CD's recorded on the Albany Records label and is member of the Illinois Music Educators Association and the Illinois Theatre Association. Mr. McGuire lives in Round Lake with his wife Zarah (a preschool teacher), sons Rowan and Milo, and dog Wednesday.

Mr. Olson teaches Bella Voce, Panther Voices, Bella Cantorei, Treble Choir, and Bass Choir.
Bobby Olson began teaching at Round Lake High School in 2015. He is originally from Aurora and graduated from Waubonsie Valley High School. During high school he participated in choir and band, the IMEA All-State Choir, and served as choir president, which led to his interest in music education. He studied Music Education with a Vocal Emphasis at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. At Augustana, Mr. Olson sang in and served as president and section leader of the Augustana Choir, touring the country and Scandinavia. He was also part of a storied intramural team that excelled at softball, kickball, and ping-pong.
Mr. Olson began teaching elementary and junior high music and choir at Cambridge Lakes Charter School in Pingree Grove, IL. For the next four years, he taught high school and junior high choir at King’s Schools in Seattle, WA. He received his Masters in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. He, his wife Dana, their sons, Andy and Charlie, live in Third Lake.

Mr. Rivera is a general music teacher and band teacher at RLMS.
Andre Rivera holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Jazz Studies from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL and is a 2016 Illinois Golden Apple Scholar. He graduated from Antioch Community High School where he was involved in the jazz band, concert band, pit orchestra, and marching band as drum major. In college Andre was principal trumpet in the Augustana Symphonic Band, Augustana Symphony Orchestra and Jazz bands. He also had the opportunity to tour with the Augustana Symphonic Band through different regions including the Midwest, California, and Spain. Andre's passion for radio and recording arts led him to become the general manager of WAUG.FM, which is Augustana's student radio station. This role allowed him to further explore his love for music production and broadcasting.
Since graduating in 2019, Andre has served as director of bands, jazz and mariachi for various school programs across Chicagoland. Andre remains an active musician in the Chicagoland area. He continues to perform with his salsa and rock bands, play in the Monday Night Jazz Band at the College of Lake County and has had his group open up for national and international touring artists.

Mr. Weber co-teaches all of the bands, teaches Concert Choir, Treble Choir, and AP Music Theory.
Mr. Weber grew up in rural northern Missouri, surrounded by corn fields, cows, and all things rural. In high school, he joined band and developed a love for ensemble playing and singing. After high school, he attended Truman State University in Northeast Missouri, where he graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Voice. After a few years of moving around Missouri working in banking, he returned to his true passion, Music Education. He taught K-12 Vocal and Instrumental Music in his old high school, Atlanta C-3 in Atlanta, Missouri (population 375) for four years while pursuing his master’s degree. He graduated in 2017 from Hannibal LaGrange University earning a Master’s Degree in Education: Teaching and Learning.
Mr Weber, his wife, Meghan, their three kids, Sophia, Grayson, and Teddy (and their corgi, Dot) live in Schaumburg. Mr. Weber also serves as the Director of Music for the First United Methodist Church of Elgin, IL and is also a certified Disney Travel Planner. The family enjoys traveling, and hopes to make it to all 7 continents by 2035.

Mr. West teaches Concert Band and Wind Symphony. He leads the Marching Panthers and assists with basketball band.
Mike West is originally from Orland Park, IL. He graduated from Carl Sandburg High School. There he was heavily involved in the music department participating in concert bands, percussion ensembles, jazz bands, orchestras, spring musical, and the marching band. He served as drum major of the Marching Eagles for two seasons. Upon graduating high school, he attended the University of Illinois majoring in Communications focusing on film and leadership. During his undergraduate tenure, he performed with the Marching Illini for four season, two on trumpet and two as drum major. He participated in a number of other musical ensembles on campus including basketball band, jazz band, and numerous concert bands. While with the University of Illinois, Mike had the opportunity to perform national and internationally including, the Rose Bowl, the Texas Bowl and the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Dublin, Ireland.
It was due to this continued passion and experience in music that Mike returned to the University of Illinois to pursue a master’s in music education with certification. He graduated in May of 2013. As a graduate, student, he served as a graduate assistant to the band department and music education department. As a graduated assistant he employed his film and media experience to help design a number of branding aspects and numerous promotional materials for Illinois Bands. He also assisted with several ensembles including leading the Illinois Orange and Blues band down to San Antonio in 2011 for the NCAA Volleyball Final Four. After graduating, he was hired as director of bands at Round Lake High School in 2013.
Mike also works with Smith Walbridge Clinics, marching band camp serving students and director from across the country. Mike manages many of the media and marketing aspects of the camp including the social media accounts, a rebrand campaign, and redesign of the website.
Mike is also a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the National Association of Music Educators, and the National Band Association.
